21st March 2018 Galmpton – Broadsands – Elberry

This walk was led by Neil and Val.
Val writes:-
15 walkers led by Neil set off from the Manor Inn, Galmpton, on a chilly but lovely sunny day; although snow was still evident in places.
It was over Churston Common to Windy Corner and down to Broadsands enjoying the picturesque views across Torbay.  Cutting through Elberry Farm to Elberry Cove where a stop was made down to the beach area.
The tide was out and it was sad to see a couple of Gannets and a Cormorant washed up on the beach – the aftermath of the stormy weather.
Returning to the path the walk took us above Elberry Cove and between the golf course; keeping to the stoney path along Elberry Lane – glimpses of the steam railway couuld be seen heading back to Paignton.
Arriving at the main Brixham Road it was down the underpass – taking the lane back to the pub where we were joined by other members,  21 sitting down to a very enjoyable lunch.
