12th July – Galmpton

Val writes:-
On an overcast, breezy day with some glimpses of the sun Neil and Jean led 20 walkers (with Val as back-stop) through Galmpton village past the creek and across a small stretch of foreshore before climbing up and crossing fields which then took us through a local farmyard and up through woodlands and fields to reach the spectacular view of the River Dart.
After the usual group photo the walk took us past Maypool, through countryside paths with views as far as Haytor on Dartmoor and the whole of Torbay.
Returning to the Manor Inn, Galmpton where 20 members, including 7 who were unable to walk had a very enjoyable lunch.
