8 walkers met at Hound Tor car park and set off in a heavy snow storm….It did not last long and we continued on our walk round Greator Rocks where a short down hill climb was negotiated with care. We then climbed up the path, over a ladder wall stile then down to Becka Brook to look at the new clapper bridge installed by the Marines in 2014. Fond memories were recalled when a tree served as the crossing and the fun had when trying to balance to cross the water on it.
We then climbed up to the horse jumps and to Holwell Lawn to find no bluebells were out, far too cold and early for them. A short walk along the road took us back to the cars and we then drove down to Widecome for lunch at The Old Inn where Ernie joined us. He told me we were a month too early for bluebells, so better luck with the date next year……..
