June 24th – Thurlestone

Midsummer’s Day turned out to be a real treat as Val and Neil led 12 walkers around this most beautiful part of the South Hams coast.

After two earlier wet walks in  2012 and  2011    Val and Neil finally found a dry day to do this very scenic 4 1/4 mile walk, though this time starting from Thurlestone rather than from Bantham.

This meant that the one very steep climb came at the end of the walk, rather than at the start,  and under a burning sky there was much grumbling from the rear as Neil rushed ahead leaving the rest of us struggling.

However all was forgiven as we settled into the Village Inn for a very pleasant lunch.
