January 8th – River Exe

Following days of extreme wind and rain which left much of the West Country battered and flooded, the morning came with the promise of a mild day with no wind or rain forecast until the afternoon.
Chris once more led 23 walkers on this now traditional first walk of the year along the River Exe from Countess Weir to the Quay and back again.
After crossing the river to return via the Canal, the walk was revised to a somewhat shorter route due to the earlier than expected return of the rain.
On return to the Tally Ho Inn we had a really excellent meal.
The usual photographers were out in force once again to do the best they could under such dull conditions.
