March 10th 2010 – Otterton Mill

– Ledby Mary & Peter Fox

A cold but brilliantly sunny day for this really enjoyable walk. Starting from Otterton Mill, we followed the west bank of the River Otter past the aquaduct before crossing to the other side of the river to continue down to the estuary where we had fine views towards Budleigh Salterton.

Continuing along the cliffs, with magnificent views across Lyme Bay to Lyme Regis, we stopped for a rest at the WW1 lookout point on Brandy Head before turning inland to return to Otterton Mill for an enjoyable lunch

A large turn-out with 26 walkers. The route we took was about 5 1/4 miles (according to Dennis) and you can see it on the map
